Urge Justice Gillese to investigate the circumstances surrounding Wettlaufer’s horrific murders, as well as broader issues in long-term care

On August 1, 2017, the Ontario government launched a broad scope public inquiry into the safety and security of long-term care residents, including the circumstances and systemic issues which may have contributed to the assault and death of residents by former nurse Elizabeth Wettlaufer.

RNAO is urging Justice Eileen E. Gillese, who was appointed to lead to inquiry, to also examine the broader challenges faced by long-term care residents and staff due to inadequate funding and staffing models.

Justice Gillese must make full use of her mandate to get to the bottom of Wettlaufer's eight horrific murders, as well as the other issues that put long-term care residents and staff at continuous risk.

We urge you to immediately sign this action alert, and to urge others to do the same.
