Nurses must be included in PTSD legislation

We urgently need your help to push Premier Wynne to finally take action and recognize Ontario’s nurses - RNs, NPs and RPNs - as first responders. Almost two years have passed since the Supporting Ontario’s First Responders Act (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder 2106) came into effect.
Although nurses working in all sectors and roles of health care are at high risk for being diagnosed with workplace-related PTSD, we were not included in the legislation that would entitle us benefits under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
The only reason to exclude nurses after two years and 14,000 responses to our action alerts is discrimination. Let Premier Wynne know that it is unconscionable that nurses - most of whom are women - are once again being discriminated against. Sign this action alert now
