Winners of RNAO Media Awards announced

The results are in. RNAO is proud to honour a group of outstanding journalists with its Media Awards.

A panel of judges comprised of nurses and journalists selected the six most compelling and informative stories from dozens of entries in this year’s competition.

The list of winning stories include a piece by Burlington Post on a daughter’s emotional journey becoming her father’s living donor, a story by Ottawa Citizen looking at the care provided by the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario to Syrian refugees and a radio feature by CBC Radio’s Now or Never on obsessive compulsive disorder.

From refugees to mental health, journalists covered a wide range of topics including supervised injection services for people in Ottawa who inject drugs, and the steps to recovery for a woman who was brought back from death.

The winners will receive their awards at the president’s banquet of RNAO’s 93rd Annual General Meeting, held April 20 at the Hilton Toronto. For more information, please read our media release.
