What’s the news with H7N9 Avian Influenza?
RNAO is in constant contact with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care at all times of the year.
More recently, we have been staying in touch with the Ministry to stay on top of any news regarding the H7N9 Avian Influenza.
So far, here is what we know.
- A novel strain of H7N9 Avian Influenza has been identified in China as infecting humans
- RNAO has been engaged by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as a key stakeholder regarding H7N9 Influenza and will continue to engage in regular communication/consultation with the Ministry regarding this matter
- Health providers are encouraged to monitor the Ministry's website (http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/pro/programs/emb/avian/) for updated information and can call a 24/7 MOHLTC Health Provider Hotline (1-866-212-227) for more information
