Seasonal Influenza Webinar Opportunities by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care

Interested in the FLU? Then these webinars are for YOU.

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, in collaboration with Public Health Ontario, is proud to introduce seasonal influenza webinar opportunities aimed at health workers and employers in ambulatory care settings & long-term care and retirement homes. Participants will learn about strategies to prepare for and respond to influenza including information on surveillance, care & treatment, infection prevention & control and occupational health & safety. These webinars will also describe the ministry’s 'Let’s get Fluless' campaign, which aims to promote the influenza vaccine and protect health workers, their patients and families from influenza. In addition, participants will learn about the risk posed by the upcoming influenza season, including information on other emerging infectious respiratory diseases such as the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) and the influenza A(H7N9) virus.

Ambulatory Care Webinars
Dates: November 20, 2013 from 5:00 – 6:30pm
November 26, 2013 from 1:00 – 2:30pm

Who should attend: Health workers, employers, and others working in ambulatory care settings such as emergency departments, community health centres, Aboriginal health access centres, family health teams, and nurse practitioner clinics

Long-Term Care & Retirement Home Webinars
Dates: November 21, 2013 from 2:30 – 4:00pm
November 26, 2013 from 5:00 – 6:30pm

Who should attend: Health workers, employers and others working in long-term care or retirement homes
