RNAO offers sincere condolences to the family of George Smitherman over the loss of Christopher Peloso
Toronto, Jan. 2, 2014 – The professional body that represents registered nurses across the province offers its sincere condolences and deep support to George Smitherman and his family as they cope with the loss of Smitherman's husband, Christopher Peloso, who passed away earlier this week.
"My heart goes out to George and the children, over the tragic loss of their husband and father. My only wish is that they can find some comfort in the good times and memories they shared with Christopher," says Doris Grinspun, Chief Executive Officer of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO).
During his time in provincial politics, Smitherman served as minister of health and worked very closely with RNAO. "Members of the association join in the sadness over the tragic loss of George's husband," says Rhonda Seidman-Carlson, President of RNAO, adding that nurses know the pain and anguish that comes with those who suffer from depression. "They want to extend their heartfelt sympathies to the Smitherman and Peloso families."
