Flu season has arrived

Brace yourselves. Flu season is back. RNAO recommends getting immunized. RNs and NPs and nursing students doing clinicals are especially encouraged to get the flu shot given how quickly this serious illness can spread and how it can affect the health of your patients.

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, influenza sends an estimated 12,000 people to hospitals every year and about 3,500 die. To ensure those numbers don't grow, you can do your part to help curb the spread of the flu virus by getting the flu shot and washing your hands regularly.

Find out where you can get the free flu shot.
