Celebrating Nurse Practitioner Week, Nov. 12-18

Nurse practitioners (NP) make Ontario a healthier place. In all sectors of the health system, NPs use their advanced knowledge and skills to provide outstanding care to Ontarians across the province.

To thank them for their dedication, RNAO is wishing all NPs a happy Nurse Practitioner Week.

From Nov. 12-18, we are celebrating the accomplishments of Ontario NPs, and raising awareness about these essential members of the interprofessional health team.

As the professional body representing Ontario's RNs, NPs, and nursing students, RNAO is proud to have helped strengthen the role of NPs in the province. Together, we have launched Ontario's first NP-led clinic, established the attending NP role in long-term care, and expanded NPs' scope of practice to include prescribing controlled substances.

And none of these accomplishments would be possible without each and every NP who works day-in and day-out to build a healthier province. So to all NPs: thank you, and have an outstanding Nurse Practitioner Week.
