BPSO symposium celebrates nursing excellence

Health-care organizations from all over the world came together on March 7 to share the challenges, accomplishments and knowledge they have learned as RNAO’s best practice spotlight organizations (BPSO).

Marking this year’s annual BPSO Knowledge Exchange Symposium in Toronto, organizations discussed their successful approaches to leveraging student placements, strategies to engaging staff during orientation, and working with an interprofessional team to enhance evidence-based practice.

Attendees also heard from Deputy Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Dr. Bob Bell, Director of Operations and Strategy at the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Rob Bonner, and University of Michigan Medical School Professor Dr. Anne Sales as well as BPSO leaders who spoke about the use of technology to support guideline uptake and their approach to starting their BPSO work.

The symposium ended with a standing ovation for former director of the IABPG Centre Dr. Irmajean Bajnok.
