Annual General Meeting (AGM) wrap-up
Earlier this month, RNAO marked its 89th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Toronto. It was a fantastic three-day event where more than 650 nurses, nursing students and other registered guests celebrated the association’s achievements of the past year and passed important resolutions for the coming year. We thanked outgoing President Rhonda Seidman-Carlson for two exceptional years of leadership and welcomed incoming President Vanessa Burkoski. We also heard the election results and members approved an RNAO fee decrease.
Ontario’s Health Minister Deb Matthews addressed members, and we also heard greetings from PC candidate Bill Walker and NDP candidate and health critic France Gélinas. ICN president Judith Shamian and CNA president Barb Mildon also brought greetings to our members.
See photos and video highlights from the events.
RNAO’s board of directors, its assembly, our outstanding membership and our expert staff all work incredibly hard to raise the profile of the nursing profession and promote its vital role in improving health and health care for Ontarians. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to read our Annual Report, which provides a year in review snapshot of our work in words and photographs. The report also provides RNAO’s financial picture and membership statistics.
