Age of RNs in Ontario


  • The average age of registered nurses in Ontario was 45.9 (Nurse Practitioners averaged the same age). The share of the nursing workforce under age 35 has dropped from 24 per cent in 1995 to 18 per cent in 2007.

  • The share of the nursing workforce over age 45 has increased from 42 per cent in 1995 to 56 per cent in 2007.
