The purpose of this guideline is to provide evidence-based recommendations that promote and sustain the entry level nursing student's application of knowledge to practice in a variety of service settings. The Guideline explores the relationships among and between students and nurses/staff, patients/clients, and faculty and their influence on the quality of practice education, professional socialization and nursing excellence. The content of the guideline is framed within the system of interaction amongst practice agencies, educational institutions, and policy makers.
