Learn what is new in the third edition of RNAO’s best practice guideline: Integrating Tobacco Interventions into Daily Practice.

Join a network of tobacco intervention best practice guideline champions for ongoing consultation and resources.

Receive tools and resources to help with implementation of an evidence-based best practice guideline (BPG).

Session Objectives

  • Explain the health consequences of tobacco use, and nicotine tolerance, dependence and addiction
  • Identify types of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products and pharmacological options
  • Describe the RNAO BPG development process and learn more about the Tobacco Intervention (TI) Initiative
  • Identify key recommendations from the RNAO Tobacco Intervention BPG
  • Identify the role of a best practice champion as a leader in knowledge exchange and transfer
  • Discuss use of the Toolkit: Implementation of Best Practice Guidelines when integrating tobacco intervention best practices into organizational settings
